Convention Reports: Bleeding Cool Fan Awards

Welcome to the first comic book awards covering comics published this year, The Bleeding Cool Fan Awards. The first half at least. Or almost the first half. And being presented at the Phoenix Comic Con at the end of the month, by me, and a bunch of comic book folk.

Last year’s Awards at C2E2 seemed to go down inordinately well. Why not be a part of this year’s awards as well by voting? The nomination procedure was carried out by a small group of private comic book aficionados and the customers of one store.

And unlike other awards, you can vote twice. In the poll below, or by tweeting your vote. Do both, it counts twice.

BEST MONTHLYISH COMIC OF 2012 SO FAR

It comes about just about every other month. Or possibly more than once a month. Every two months and your pushing it. What’s been the best of the year so far?

BEST GRAPHIC NOVEL OR SIMILAR OF 2012 SO FAR

RACIST, SEXIST OR HOMOPHOBIC COMIC OF THE LAST TWELVE MONTHS

No one ever thinks they are racist, sexist or homophobic. Only really weird folks do. But every now and then, we can all be a little bit. And sometimes, it comes out in the comics. Also certain sections of the audience may interpret a line, an action or a breast size as being grossly out of order and launch a mob with pitchforks and torches. Who is to say who is right and who is wrong? Well, you are.
